Letitia James Charged With Federal Financial Fraud Charges

A federal grand jury has charged the New York attorney general for bank fraud on Thursday, as stated by someone with knowledge of the case.

Lindsey Halligan personally presented the charges to the grand jury this Thursday, as reported.

Federal prosecutors do not typically appear before such panels.

Halligan was appointed in the role last month after the president expressed dissatisfaction regarding the progress of inquiries involving adversaries.

The move marks a recent strategy to leverage the DOJ to target adversaries.

This occurs a fortnight following Halligan secured charges involving Comey.

Career prosecutors wrote a document in that case detailing why charges were not warranted.

Comey entered a not guilty plea this past Wednesday.
